My Books
Stories Where History, Mystery, & the Unexplained Collide
Once upon a time, I said, “Even if I have to keep trying until I’m 90, one day I’m going to have a book published.” Thankfully, I didn’t have to wait that long—but I’m pretty sure I’ll keep writing until I’m 90 anyway, because I have a lot of stories to tell.
My books explore the eerie, the curious, and the unexplained through paranormal fiction, graphic novels, and retellings of ghost and monster folklore. Rooted in history and legend, these stories are driven by atmosphere, mystery, and the question of what might be lingering just beyond what we can see.
If you’re drawn to haunted places, old legends, and stories that blur the line between fact and folklore, you’re in the right place.

THE HOMECOMING: A Vivian Bennett Mystery
My Debut Novel has finally been rereleased! Watch for the next Vivian Bennet Mystery to come soon!
Â
Vivian Bennett can see what others can’t—shadows that cling to the brokenhearted, feeding on grief and despair, and spirits who linger to protect the living. After a tragic accident takes the lives of her mother and brother, Vivian is forced to move in with her estranged father in a seemingly perfect house that hides a terrible secret. Haunted by sorrow and pursued by an evil presence lurking in her new home, Vivian soon discovers that the house she now lives in was once the home of a girl who vanished without a trace.
Â
With help from her brother’s spirit and a restless ghost, Vivian uncovers a chilling truth and finds herself in the crosshairs of a killer. As Vivian digs deeper, dark spirits begins to feed on her pain and anger, threatening to consume her. To survive and bring the truth to light, she must face not only the killer but her own grief—before the darkness that haunts her new home claims her, too.

PIPER
#1 New York Times bestselling author Jay Asher and co-author Jessica Freeburg brilliantly reimagine the classic Pied Piper legend as a powerful graphic novel about loneliness, love, and vengeance. Fans of Neil Gaiman and Through the Woods by Emily Carroll will devour this eerie, atmospheric retelling.
Â
Long ago, in a small village in the middle of a deep, dark forest, there lived a lonely, deaf girl named Maggie. Shunned by her village because of her disability, her only comfort comes from her vivid imagination. Maggie has a gift for inventing stories and dreams of one day finding her fairy-tale love.
Â
When Maggie meets the mysterious Piper, it seems that all her wishes are coming true. Spellbound, Maggie falls hard for him and plunges headfirst into his magical world. But as she grows closer to the Piper, Maggie discovers that he has a dark side.
The boy of Maggie’s dreams might just turn out to be her worst nightmare…
Â
With striking illustrations from Eisner-nominated artist Jeff Stokely, mixed with Jessica Freeburg's work on historic and legendary horrors, Piper is an exciting new departure for Jay Asher that deftly touches on the same themes of truth, guilt, and redemption that made Thirteen Reasons Why a beloved bestseller.
